SALON VAN CLEEF IN ULRICEHAMN
NEW LOGOTYPE AND GRAPHIC PROFILE
Salon van Cleef is well-known amongst the majority of Ulricehamn’s inhabitants. The esteemed hair salon has been located at the same spot for more than 35 years. They provide haircuts for everyone – ladies, gentlemen and youngsters. Everything from the traditional cuts to beard trimming and modern styling techniques and hair colouring. In 2018, there was a generation shift, and current owner Andreas Sjöberg took over after his relative Rolf who managed the business from the start.
WHAT WAS THE ASSIGNMENT?
Andreas Sjöberg reached out to Brandperior requesting a fresh logotype, graphic profile and printed materials.
After research and meetings with interviews, the creative process began. Andreas’ requirements included classic salon style, a vintage feeling and preferably a shaving knife of some kind. At Brandperior, we really enjoy this type of assignments. To capture essence and translate personality into distinctive brand identity through logotype creation.
The final design delivered a logotype that instantly communicate its purpose, with an overall silhouette resembling a gentleman’s hair style. The composition consists of scissors, a comb, a shaving knife and a moustache. Alongside black and white, the colour palette features gold and beige tones to convey sophistication and elegance. The font works seamlessly across business cards, clothing and printed vinyl on the large windows facing the street. Moving forward, the new profile should extend to interior elements, including photo walls where Brandperior will produce the photos.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST SATISFIED WITH?
“The new logotype is perfect. It captures our brand’s essence and presents the business in an inviting and professional way. The collaboration with Brandperior during the design process was fun, and their nice approach to our requested adjustments was much appreciated. It is particularly heartwarming when people passing by stop to compliment the good-looking logotype.” – Andreas Sjöberg, owner Salon van Cleef.
